Adding a button to operations bar in the default issue view

Rade Martinović November 4, 2013

Hi all!

I have installed Tempo plug-in and I have hidden JIRA's own Log Work from Default Issue Screen. I did this a year ago so I don't remember how specifically I did this. Anyways, now I want to have Tempo's Log Work buttong visible next to Assign button in the default issue screen, so that people could log time from there (as they can also from Tempo section in the issue view).

Is there a way to have Tempo's Log Work button displayed in the button bar?

Similarly, what is the a way to have any button displayed in the issue button bar?

Hi all,

Using information from this question - https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/98366/configure-number-of-action-buttons I have managed to get more buttons to appear in actions bar.

Basically, while Jira is shut down what is needed is to change ops.bar.group.size.opsbar-operations property inside $JIRA_HOME/jira-config.properties file and restart Jira. That basically did the trick for me. :)

Hi Rade,

this is a feature that is controlled by Atlassian. There is a limited space for buttons in this bar. When you take away the Assign Issue permission for the user looking at the Issue, the Log Work button will appear instead of the Assign button (being the top link in the More dropdown). This is probably not what you want.

You should check with Atlassian if adding/ editing buttons in this bar is something they are considering to implement in the future.

Hi Susanne.

I have seen that it is possible to control the number of workflow buttons with some (obscurely and poorely documented) feature of jira-config.properties: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA060/Advanced+JIRA+Configuration#AdvancedJIRAConfiguration-Thejira-config.propertiesfile liked explained here https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/52096/help-with-changing-ops-bar-group-size-opsbar-transitions

I was hoping that there would exist some similar feature of jira-config.properties that would allow for more action buttons in this bar. Are you aware of such config property existing?

Sorry, but this is a JIRA feature and I know very little about it. I think it is best for you to create an issue with them (https://www.atlassian.com/resources/support) or send an email to support@atlassian.com.
