so, what if i want to edit my layout, to add new sections, (e. g. a section for twitter or instagram on my dashboard page) is it possible?

If you make changes within the UI, then it will be upgraded automatically - it's content. If you do the changes by using plugins (either your own, or by a vendor addon such as the four Maggie mentioned or Adaptavist's Theme Builder) then there may be migrations you need to do

The stuff in the look and feel section will be upgraded automatically, there's nothing in there you need to worry about.

well, i guess i could go to General Configuration, Look and Feel, Layouts and then edit a Decorator for adding new sections like the one i mentioned above and when a new upgrade comes my sections will be there.

Hi @Javier Rodriguez,

Your best bet will be to go with an add-on vendor who has a solid track record of updating their add-on shortly after a Confluence version was released and to limit custom code as much as possible. This will allow you to simply update both Confluence and the add-on without ever having to worry about reviewing hundreds of lines of custom code.

Check them out here:

Thanks,
