Over the past few days I have been trying to configure IIS with JIRA using ARR. I have followed the documentation from here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRAKB/Integrating+JIRA+with+IIS+using+ARR
the issue I have encountered is that when I type in my JIRA server URL and port number LA1.Ac.Local:8080/JIRA my URL is rewritten (what I want to do) to the IIS URL in the address bar (LAW.Ac.Local/Jira) but returns a 404.4 error which I have inserted below.
Another unusual thing is that when I type in http://LA1.ac.local:8080/jira/secure/Dashboard.jspa it takes me to my JIRA dashboard, however this does not solve my problem because it looks like it is by passing the IIS.
I have also checked that my static file handler is configured using * instead of * . * which seems to be a common fix for this kind of problem. Does anyone know a fix or encountered a similar kind of problem? Both servers are on separate machines using Windows Server 2012 R2, I am using IIS 8.5 and JIRA v6.4.8error.png

I don't know enough about IIS to help you resolve this specific problem, but I can tell you that I found this thread to be very helpful in configuring our Confluence and JIRA instances behind an IIS reverse proxy. Might be worth a look? https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/118050
Hi Richard,
Can you double check your re-write rules? You’ve mentioned the JIRA URL should be LA1.Ac.Local:8080/JIRA and then redirected to LAW.Ac.Local/JIRA but on your screenshot I could see the URL is largeatlasweb.ac.local/jira. Unless I’m missing something, the correct re-write URL should be LAW.Ac.Local/JIRA. Also I’m not sure how IIS deal with capita/lower case.
