Hi

On our confluence instance we have hundreds of spaces.

We want to provide users with a way to quickly navigate to their respective space without having to browse through the space directory.

Is it possible to have some kind of recently viewed spaces gadget or some way i can display the top 10 accessed spaces on the homepage like we can do on JIRA?

Rahul

Here's a number of suggestions:

  • Categorize the spaces with a department name. Then put the Spaces List macro, set to default to a list of a certain category, on each users' home page.
  • One semi-manual way would be to create pages with links to the pages important to each department. Then include that page on each user's home page.
When you make a change to the "quick links" page, all the users' home pages will automatically update.
  • The default dashboard page has tabs for recent page views. If you haven't customized your landing page, the dashboard is accessible by clicking the logo icon in the upper left. You could also add a link to the dashboard by putting a link to:
    https://yoursite.com/wiki/dashboard.action
in the sidebar, or the landing page, or on the users' home pages.
  • Teach the users how to set pages as favorites or to watch pages, then they can click their avatar and select Favorites or Watches.
