Is there a recommended method to get a billing rate on a Tempo Worklog? I'd like to have the billing rate come from the User, but be available in the reporting system.

Hi Jeff

This is not supported in the current Tempo Timesheets version, but it has been requested in https://tempoplugin.jira.com/browse/TB-5

We value feedback and comments on how we can make Tempo better, so if you'd like to contribute to this request, please vote on it and add a comment that will help Tempo developers to implement this request.

In case this is not what you are looking for you can create a feature request in our Atlassian JIRA (https://tempoplugin.jira.com/browse/JTMPO)

Best regards

Is their thought to attach billing rates to SLA levels in Service Desk? We structure our rates based on response time to customers based on their SLA level desired. Would be very cool to drive a billed rate base on the SLA level the Issue was submitted at, and have this SLA tier rate set by account. Please let me know if this is something you are actually looking at. Really appreciate you all at Tempo and the awesome support you have for us Experts already!

Hi there :) You are talking about 2 things right? 1. Different rates per Account (rates for the person changes in relation which Account is being worked for) 2. Rates have effective date/period We are working on both of these things but trying to find the best way to solve

+1 for different rates per Account

Hi Sveinbjorn, We are looking for two things: Rates based on SLA level. So if we were to offer support to our customers for various rates, and they came back and reported an issue with us and set to a tier in the SLA, can we attach a billable rate fro that response? This could be integrated with Service Desk, would be very nice, but also for non service desk instances, would be really nice to record time and add a custom field that allowed the time reporter to set an SLA tier or a billing rate or some marker so when doing end of month or quarter billing, we could roll up the invoice amount by billing rate x hours for each rate. Also since we provide services that are against blanket PO's that are support with SLA levels, as well as engineering and architecture, we rate this disciplines differently. I think rate effective dates are a nice to have as well, but if thats not available, we can always change the rates on a given date for a customer manually and still be functional.

Hi Jeff

Can you please create an issue in our support system with this query? Tempo project managers can be included in such issues and in this case that would be optimal. Please follow the link and create an issue:

Hi Jeff

There is a new permission (in beta 10) called Browse Customer Budget. Since the introduction users can only see the Budget for accounts that they have been granted this permission to view. For information on how to configure please see:

Browse Customer Budget: https://tempoplugin.jira.com/wiki/display/BOOKS/Browse+Customer+Budget

Books Permissions: https://tempoplugin.jira.com/wiki/display/BOOKS/Books+Permissions

I hope this is helpful.

finally getting around to trying this.  When I:

Choose an account from the Tempo drop down

Choose Budget to the far right

I'm getting some sort of permission violation.  can you direct me to where I need to correct my permissions to get past this issue?

Hi Brennan and Jeff

In the newest Tempo Books beta version (beta 7) connecting a billing rate to a worklog issue is possible. This version will be available on the marketplace later today or early tomorrow and is free of charge.

Price rates are created according to the different billing rate of employee types. Employees are then added to the different price rate groups. When the employee logs work on an issue his work hours and hourly price rate will be calculated and displayed in the account that is connected with the issue. Since an external party is billed the work is displayed under account Revenue and is grouped by the price rate categories created.

To add a Price Rate

Choose more under Accounts in the Tempo drop down from the blue top bar

Under Manage (to the top right) choose Price Rates (the user must have the manage price rate permission from the administration section). Add a price rate by choosing Create Price Rate and then add members to the rate.

To view worklog billing in account

Choose an account from the Tempo drop down

Choose Budget to the far right

If you have logged work for the user connected to price rate in the current period the billing amount can be seen under Revenue in the Sheet view

The Transactions view shows the issue that the work has been logged on

I hope this has been helpful.

Best regards,

Heiða Dóra
