Hi,
I attach a file to a page and upload a file with the same name as an existing attachment. Confluence will rename the old file e.g Version 1.How can I rename version 1?
Thanks
Hi, I'll join this thread as I have a similar need.
Are there any plugins that can make attachment versioning scheme more sophisticated?
I want some of my attachments (Word, PPT, Excel documents) to follow a versioning scheme like this:
0.1 -> 0.2 -> 0.3 -> 1.0 (published version) -> 1.1 -> 1.2 -> 2.0 (published version) -> 2.1 and so on
Or alternatively:
PA1 -> PA2 -> PA3 -> A (published version) -> PB1 -> PB2 -> B (published version) -> PC1 and so on.
Basically any scheme that makes it easy to distinguish drafts from published versions. Flat versioning scheme used by Confluence by default is too simplistic...
Ideally, the plugin would update Version property in Word documents automatically at check-in to make sure version number displayed in Confluence history and inside the document are in sync.
Thanks,
Marek
You don't. Confluence has a simple fixed scheme for keeping document history clear, it doesn't expect you to need anything more complex than "File X, version y".
Of course, there's always coding/plugins. Could you explain why you want to change the naming scheme and what to? Then we might have recomendations or ideas for you.
