Why I can't create an issue collector?

Radu Palicica July 6, 2015

I've just created a new project using the default workflow scheme. Assigned an administrator, a developer and a user.

If I try to create an issue collector by hitting Submit I'm getting neither an error message nore being redirected to the issue Collectors list view page. The page does refresh when hitting the Submit button.

Am i doing anything wrong?

Kind regards,
Radu

Hi Radu,

Please ensure it's possible to create issues without assignee. You can check it by doing the following:

  1. Access JIRA as administrator
  2. Click on the cogwheel icon (on the top menu)
  3. Click on System
  4. Click on Edit Settings
  5. Search for Allow unassigned issues, select ON next to it
  6. Click on Update, at the bottom of the page

Thanks and regards,

This worked for me as well. Thank you, Paula!

Hi @Paula Silveira

I have the same issue, but not the same cause: Allow unassigned issues is already 'ON'.

Are there any other known causes?

The form refreshes and maintains the data, but there is no alert. I have also tried in multiple browsers.

Thanks

Mark

Hello @Mark Allen

Did you find any root cause? I am facing the same issue right now.

Cheers!

Hi @[deleted]

Yes. I changed the type of issue created from Story to Bug and it worked.

I hope this helps.

Hi @Mark Allen

Before I saw your answer, I noticed that in my default field configuration (that I used for issue collector) time tracking is mandatory field.

I used other field configuration for this project, where ONLY "Reporter" field is required and it worked.

Maybe Bug and Story issue type had different field configuration in your case.

Thank you so much for your help.

If someone comes by and does not find his/her solution in the above entries.

Another reason for the above failure is setting fields as required that the issue collector cannot display. In my case, this was a user picker field type. Refer to the issue collector manual for futher information.
