JQL error when looking for "MRD Requirement" field in Jira issues from certain dates

project = ASX and "MRD Requirement" changed after "2015/02/06"

giving me error: History searches do not support the 'MRD Requirement' field. Why?

Ah, sorry, yes, text fields don't support that function (yet). The history functions are underdeveloped at the moment, although Atlassian are gradually sneaking more of them in for assorted field types.
