I am creating a project in JIRA and whilst I am writing user stories I am realising I need to break features into 'Themes'. I can't currently see a 'Type' for theme. What should I do?

In JIRA Agile, the hierarchy is that 'Epic' contains 'User Stories' which can have 'Sub-Tasks'. By default, it does not have any restriction that all 'Sub-tasks' of a 'Story' must be closed before closing the 'Story'. So from what I see, 'Epic' will be your 'Theme' here.

This is a way of categorizing a user story when the user story consists of multiple tasks that are related, but each sub task can be implemented individually/ in phases and signed off. Where as with an Epic each sub tasks needs to be completed before the epic can seen as completed/implemented.

Can you explain what this 'Theme' is? Is it part of the hierarchy of your User Story (like a sub-ticket/sub-task)? Or just a way of putting categorizing User Stories?
