how to define method in velocity template file

Hi;

I am new in jira development i want to define parameteriazed method in vm file and call it from itself like recursive method. and in that method i want to access data from active object table and diaplay it.

so is there any way to do it.please help me on this.

There are macros in velocity . you should see this velocity documentation it has few good examples
