Hi All

Thanks for all your comments. I managed to resolve this issue.

When i tried to xml import the same file again after a few hours it imported fine, jira started perfectly.

the issue may be due to memory running out during xml import and thus corrupting the database and preventing a start up.

But this is just a hypothesis, no way i can prove it now, since the issue is no longer replicable.

But if anyone can suggest any other possible root causes, then it will be great

HI Bhushan

I am on 4.1.2, about to upgrade to higher version. There are just three custom plugins i use, Jira charting plugin, greenhopper and Jira workflow misc extensions.

The instance worked fine until now. Today morning i tried to do an restore from xml, that failed, when i tried to rollback even that failed, after that jira failed to start up with this error.

What version of Jira are you using? What plugins are you using?
