Confluence Insert Macro: What does error mean?: "Please complete the configuration in the preview area first

From Confluence, I edit a page  { to open the macro browser, then I select "activity stream" but the INSERT button is not highlighted until the configuration in preview is completed. What exactly are the steps to configure the preview area?

I tried Ctr-Shift-E from the editing page, but I see no configuration option there...

Suggestions appreciated.

Hey Ian,

Did you hit the "save button" before scrolling down ?

That error usually shows up when you do not click that button, is not very intuitive as I also had the same problem once I got used to it .

I have the same problem, for hours at a time. I definitely click the config save button before clicking the Insert button.
