How to assign to epics on Kanban board

Philip Winston June 18, 2013

In this post:

It is suggested to use a Kanban board as a PM board, with swimlanes by epics. But where and how do you assign issues to Epics given that the epic panel is not visible on Kanban boards. Do you edit each issue and use the Epic link drop down are is there a more drag-n-drop way?

You'll need to add the Epic Link by editing Issues, there's no way to manage Epics in Kanban Boards similar to Scrum Boards' Plan mode.

That's what I was afraid of, but good to know for sure, thanks.

There is a feature request but unfortunately Atlassian doesn't seem to care about it very much. https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/GHS-7052

Apparently still no such feature...

Why is the Kanban board always crippled?  It used to not have the backlog, now it does.  but no epics.  which is why i've always used a neverending sprint on the scrum board.
