I found that our EPIC fields (link, name etc) are locked and we are not able to link issue to the Epic anymore . Why this happened and how to have it back ?
The fact that that field is locked means that you can't change its configuration. This is because that is meant to be managed by JIRA Agile.
So, your problem is most likely rooted somewhere else, not in that field being locked. That always is.
