OnDemand REST API notify function throws 500 Internal Server Error

Robin Moffatt June 22, 2015

Using the REST API to try and send a notify with OnDemand, I get a 500 Internal Server Error.

{"errorMessages":["Internal server error"],"errors":{}}

I'm using a valid Issue key that I have successfully worked against for other of the REST API functions. The body I am POSTing is both the example one cited in the docs as well as my own, neither work, both throw a 500 server error (unless I do something like not specify a recipient, and then I do correctly get validation errors such as  400 {"errorMessages":["No recipients were defined for notification."] etc)

Is there any way to debug this?

Hi Robin,

Would it be possible for you to paste here the API call you are making? I'd like to take a closer look at it.

Cheers,

Clarissa.

I get the same error.

I'm making a POST request to this API. I've tried using the example request in the online documentation(of course tweaking it a bit to have valid user and group names)

  • Notify    POST /rest/api/2/issue/{issueIdOrKey}/notify

It always returns 500 Internal Server Error.

Is there a server setting or something else that I might be missing?

Thanks!

Hi Robin. How did you solve this issue then? I'm stuck with the same.
