How can we remove the "default" setting for a group in conflunece?

MihaiF June 5, 2015

Now we have two default groups for Confluence users.

confluence-recognos and recognos-users

And we want:

  • confluence-recognos to assign conflunece licence (it is default). We wopuld like to rename it to confluence-users
  • recognos-users is default also; we want to remove it from being default;

Thank you!

  1. Create a new group called confluence users
  2. Put all your users in it
  3. Work out where confluence-recognos has been used and replace it with confluence-users
  4. Go to general permissions and remove recognos-users from "can use" permissions - that's what does the defaults

Confluence doesn't do group-renaming (yet), you have to add and delete.

It's the first column in all three tables of types of access (Group, user and anonymous).
