Hi guys
We have a problem with to link issues to issues in another project or of another issue type. The GUI where you setup the link searches only the issues which are available via the currently applied filter in the background, this is nowhere mentioned on the UI. This was better in jira 4.x as you were able to select the filter the search is run upon in the UI, now it silently uses the current filter settings.
You can find right to the mentioned search field "search for an issue" where the search is not limited by the currently selected filter settings. BUT it will not find parts of a word only if the word in the subject is fully spelled.
Any ideas on how to work around this, or is this a bug?
Thanks
Mark
Hey there, Mark.
I think the issue that you are having here might be best handled by Atlassian Support. You can lodge a ticket in the support site (https://support.atlassian.com/) and provide more information (screenshots will definitely help). From there, we might be able to determine whether there is something wrong or it is an intended behavior. Hope this helps.
Warm regards,
Danial
Hi Danial
we just run out of maintenance because of our high frustration level about not fixing bugs by Atlassian. Until some important bugs for are not fixed we will not extend this and possible start to look for another solution soon.
Just things like this ones gave us the immediate impression that Atlassian is not caring about existing customers and fixing their problems (bugs).
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-25548
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-2698
The question raised here was aimed to help my users and reduce their daily problems they face. So the end user reception on this issue is that Atlassian made this feature worse on the update. Really is not helping me to biuld acceptance within our development group.
Cheers
Mark
