Can I add watchers while creating new issues at once?

Yoonhwa Nam October 18, 2011

I searched Screen Scheme whether I can attach "Watchers" Field or not.

Is there anyway to attach "Watchers" Field, so I can designate watchers while creating issues at once?

I'm using v4.2.1, if I need to update the version, please let me know.

Please help me~ ASAP~

Not really. This is a limitation in JIRA and there is a feature request has been raised here:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-21897

You can try the suggested workaround in JRA-21897 OR you can give it a try with the JIRA Watchers Plugin. The summary of this plugin is as following:

Custom field type that allows watchers to be modified on issue creation/modification.

However, the description of the plugin is:

This field acts the same as any old "Multi User Picker" field, except it contains a list of all the watchers on an issue. When creating an issue, it will be blank. When modifying an issue, it will be populated with the watchers of that issue, if they exist.

I'm not sure whether this plugin will fulfill your requirements since the plugin's information is contradict.

Thanks for the answer. I'll try multi user picker way, and I'll look up the JIRA Watchers Plugin.

Anyway, thanks for the recommendation, it helps a lot! :D Thanks!!
