Does Atlasssian uses plugins to enhance the Atlasssian Confluence?

We use Confluence default with a few theme customizations. We're running Confluence clustered version 5.7.4.

Even default dashboard? And how do you deal with current limitations of blog posts when you use blog posts such a lot as you do?

The blog posts are quite simple, but they don't need to be complex for most uses. What specific limitations are you thinking of?
