Slow startup after importing data

We have this support case, and no clue what the root cause could be.

The scenario is

  • Stop JIRA
  • import data from the production environment
  • Start JIRA
  • After the moment that the log states that JIRA is accessible through a browser, it still takes more than 15 minutes before we can access JIRA
  • Stop JIRA again
  • Start JIRA
  • Now JIRA is immediately available when the message is logged.

When we remove the table grid editor addon which is in use, all goes fine, after importing the data

What could be causing this behaviour - could this be OSGI related, where there is some conflicting import statements.  How can we debug this type of problems ?

Hey Francis,

This issue is probably related to your indexes, since they were built before import your data.

Check if by following this KB (remove the indexes when you stop JIRA) does it works.

Hope it helps! smile

Cheers,
Andre

Thanks for the suggestion. We found the bugger and it is in our code. The instance where we see this slow behaviour has 1800 custom fields, and our initialization code is tripping over it. We are busy fixing the problem.
