We are currently using JIRA Agile (5.2), but looking at upgrading to the latest version.
One niggle that I have with the JIRA agile plugin is the JIRA Version Report.
The Version report by default takes the baseline as when an issue was first assigned to that version. In reality there may be some preliminary development work done for a version but development will not actually start in anger until sometime later when developers roll off the previous feature. This means that the predicted completion dates for the project will ALWAYS be late and only converge to something approaching reality as story point development begins in anger.

Ideally there should be some way to reset the baseline used for estimation to start at a new date (e.g. the green line).
Is this possible, or am I misusing JIRA entirely? If so what should I do differently?
I changed to Start Date of the version to a later date that I felt better reflected when work began in earnest. Try that to see if it produces the results you're looking for.
