Indexing language makes Search Queries stop working

We are using lucene search queries, but after changing the indexing language from English to German, the queries stop returning results.

I've investigated the lucene index with Luke and it's there, but it seems Confluence stops returning results.

Anyone stumbled upon the same problem?

Hi @William Zanchet [Atlassian] ,

I am posting this reply on behalf of my colleague @Rafael Franco [Adaptavist] as he was experiencing some issues which prevented him from posting here.

" Thanks a lot for your answer. I did rebuild the indexes from scratch, and even a confluence restart doesn't fix it, only cleaning and starting it from scratch.
I even tried converting my queries from confluence to using pure lucene but still nothing works. Once I clean and switch back to English they start working again.
I'm just a bit stuck since I don't know how to investigate it further...
Any ideas?

Cheers!

@Rafael Franco [Adaptavist]. "

Team, I just did a test here in Confluence 5.7. I changed the index language from English to German, then added the word: Krakenwagen to a page, and it didn't find it. After I did a rebuild of the search through the UI, _Cog Icon > General Configuration > Content indexing_ it could find the word. Would you mind doing it? Also, I had to rebuild 3 times to have it working.

Hi Rafael,

I haven't heard about it, but I'll give a try in doing a rebuild of the content index from scratch, to see if we can have such feature working again.

Being that said, here are the steps for it:

Cheers,

Reply from @Rafael Franco [Adaptavist] " Hi again @William Zanchet [Atlassian] thanks for your quick reply. After rebuilding several times, it showed up once, and then after couple more refreshes, it stopped showing up again. Seems random the behaviour. Maybe it has something to do with the cache or invalidation of the indexing Regards, Rafael " Best Regards, Supraja Thota | QA Analyst | Adaptavist.com Ltd.
