OAuth error while trying to add confluence page gadget in JIRA

RS April 26, 2013

I have Confluence 5.1 and a Jira 5.2.9 servers running on the same host with authorization and SSO done with Crowd.

JIRA and Confluence have reciprocal, trusted, application links.

When I try and add a "Confluence Page Gadget" to my JIRA dashboard I get this after I click "Save":

"An internal server error occured when requesting rescource."

Here's the error from the JIRA log file:

2013-04-09 16:32:40,616 http-bio-8080-exec-8 WARN rs 992x14616x1 46epg9 192.168.1.5 /plugins/servlet/gadgets/makeRequest [http.impl.client.DefaultRequestDirector] Authentication error: Unable to respond to any of these challenges:

{oauth=WWW-Authenticate: OAuth realm="http%3A%2F%2F192.168.1.11%3A8090", oauth_problem="consumer_key_unknown"}

I can replicate this on my JIRA<->Confluence "test' system that is set up the same way.

Has anyone seen this before?

Could it be that your confluence and jira instance both use a different jre? And that you have to import your server certificates in both keystores?

No, I have not. I somehow missed seeing Peter's suggestion until now. I'll be looking at that now.

Hi rick, have the similar configuration (JIRA 6.0.8, Confluence 5.2 on the same host, SSO crowd, same JRE) and I experience the same issue.

Do you have some solution or workaround for this OAuth problem?

Thanks

No proxy, web client and server are running on the same subnet. I'll open a support ticket. Thanks Rian.

Could be an issue with proxy or network. I would suggest to open a support request at https://support.atlassian.com so that we could investigate this further.
