Why does it take 10 minutes for elastic bamboo to start remote agent?

adambrengesjo April 18, 2013

We use elastic bamboo, with windows images.

When bamboo starts instances, the instances' up time is roughly 10 minutes before the agent is available.

Actually this is a recurrent complaint, Atlassian is working to speed up the process from their side but on Amazon's end is still takes about 8 minutes to start up the instance. There's a improvement request open regarding this here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BAM-13111

I recommend you to vote for it and a add a comment explaining how this is affecting you, most people don't realize but the more activity you have on a improvement request the more likely it is to be implemented.

Hope this information helps!

Did you compare it against a plain Windows 2008 R2 on the same instance type?
