Hi
I'm using Confluence 5.1.x instance within our corporate firewall and a few users are persistently using the wrong login credentials. I'd like to make the login process "fool proof" by changing the text displayed on the page (../login.action) from "Log In" to "Log In using your Active Directory credentials".
I understand that these pages are driven by Velocity templates but I'm not sure whether I should be making changes in /confluence/login.vm (its not obvious to me where though?), or is the change simply changing the interface text found in: ConfluenceActionSupport.properties (extracted from /confluence/WEB-INF/lib/confluence-x.x.x.jar). If the latter, can anyone suggest which name value pair needs changing, I see a few candidates such as: com.atlassian.confluence.user.actions.LoginAction.action.name=Log In, but I'm not sure whether this is correct.
Hopefully I'm not too far off track!?
Thanks
Gavin.
Hi
with the queryparam i18ntranslate=on could you activate a "show me the ident view".
If you call {your host here}/login.action?i18ntranslate=on you see the corresponding identifier, which is login.name.

Hey Oli
your suggestion works perfectly, love the parameter trcik too! Most Appreciated :)
To flesh out the resolve for others, as Oli outlined. stop confluence, modify ConfluenceActionSupport.properties (extracted from /confluence/WEB-INF/lib/confluence-x.x.x.jar), edit the name value pair "login.name=Log In" to "login.name=Log In using your Active Directory credentials" and re pack back into the jar file (there's loads of examples for editing jar files on the web). start confluence to see your change.
Thanks
Gavin.
