Where gadgets' configurations are persisted

Hi courageous atlassian addon developers !

I wonder if someone can point me where gadgets' configurations are persisted? Database? Some property file?

See the portletconfiguration table in the database.

Don't be fooled by the tablename. The terms gadget and portlet are used interchangeably through the JIRA code, due to historical reasons.
