What Issue Types Can Be Added To A Sprint?

Ian O'Rourke May 20, 2015

I realise I can create a scrum board and it will include any items that obey the JQL query. If we wanted to put issue types on the scrum board (and into sprints, etc) but they weren't of issue type story would:-

(a) This work absolutely fine, it seems to? But I'm thinking reports, burn down, etc.

(b) Is there anything I would need to ensure was on the issue type to make sure it worked?

We'd be using the original estimate as the estimate not story points.

You should be able to add any issue type to Sprints and using 'Original Time Estimate' for the estimation metric should allow the reports to function as normal.

I wouldn't expect reporting to come out right if you were using 'Story Points' for estimation, however, since not all issue types use story points.

Even still, you could always create a new scrum project/board to drop in whatever issue types you might want to use, then do a bit of local testing to make sure that everything looks the way you'd expect after running a sprint for a week or so. smile
