In the video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ca8n9uW3afg, the presenter shows a Jira screen that has a "Wiki" tab (see, for example, at 2:17). I assume this is the Confluence instance. I would like to have the same functionality.
We are running Jira 5.2.6 on port 8080, and Confluence 4.3.7 on port 8090, on the same machine locally. How do I configure my system to allow this?
hi Jeff.
why not simply activating the new header and switch applications from there?
What version of Jira is that in? I am running Jira 5.2.6 on port 8080, and Confluence 4.3.7 on port 8090 of the same machine. I do not see that new header in my version.

just a thought. the tabbed solution was nice though but personally i prefer the new style

if your confluence is v5 or above your header would look like this

ah ok.
the jira version is 5.2.9 but in 5.2.6 it can be activated too.
the problem here is the confluence version. i think version 5 introduced the new header and i didn't find out how to activate it in previous versions to 5.x
for the jira part simply go to
http(s)://your_jira/secure/admin/AdvancedApplicationProperties.jspa
and add "com.atlassian.jira.darkfeature.CommonHeader" as key value for "jira.enabled.dark.features"
this will bring you the new styled header

Thanks for the info. I will lobby with my Ops team to assist me in updating Jira and Confluence to the latest so that I can get the latest "look and feel."

Hi Jeff,
This is the old look n' feel of Atlassian OnDemand. Actually all the interface has been modified, and instead of the "Wiki" tab you'll have a common header for all the applications. Thus the "Wiki" tab is no longer available. You can have a similar functionality by a 3rd party plugin, but it requires aditional licensing:

That addon seems to give a nice tabbed link from Jira to Confluence, but not the other way around. :-( I ended up uninstalling it after failing to get it to do what I want.
As far as the new look and feel are concerned - I guess I can live with it. I'm just ending up using two different browsers (Safari and Chrome), one pointing to Jira and one to Confluence. This is more because of the fact that Atlassian cookie tracking is per-URL instead of per-URL:port. If I try to have both open in the same brwoser in tabs, I am constantly logging back in again. But I don't consider this to be a sleek way to do things. It seems to me that better integration between the two apps would make for a much more contiguous site feel (kinda like Trac).
