I have repeatedly 'unsubscribed' from your email notifications for atlassian answers but I am still getting one every few mins. Where do I cancel it?

I didn't want this, not sure why it started and I can't seem to make it stop

You probably clicked "yes" when it asked you "subscribe to this topic".  The "unsubscribe" function doesn't really work in my experience - it just seems to remove you from the (infrequent) general mail, not all questions, or notifications on your own questions.

Look above this question for the "topics" section and you'll get a list of all available topics, with the ones you've watched listed first.  Click on all the "unwatch" options next to them, and that should stop most of it.  

You also watch all your own questions and any you've deliberately watched so when you get one of those, go to the question and click "unwatch" at the top right.

I'd be tempted to raise a questions issue about "unsubscribe" not working...
