atlassian-connect.json For Cloud Based Gadget

I'm trying to create a private html/javascript/css gadget add-on for a cloud JIRA instance.

I'm struggling to find out what the atlassian-connect.json file should look like.  All documentation around gadget creation use gadget.xml, which marketplace will not accept.

I believe that connect can not do gadgets at this time.
