What is this injected JavaScript in Bitbucket Sites?

James Edington April 18, 2015

Sometimes on my Bitbucket Site (usually happens when I reload a page), I'll get this JavaScript injected at the top of the <head>: http://p.pomf.se/7064 (paste has been beatified with http://jsbeautifier.org/; original injected code was an ugly, obfuscated one-liner)

What is this and why is it there? What does it do? Can I disable it?

That's a New Relic client side profiling scriptlet. It basically sends back to a service (New Relic) about the performance of your browser (and your browser version). Basically it allows Bitbucket to identify issues before you do that happen on the browser side.

What issues does it detect? I looked at their site, and it seems to be a simple datamining and statistic gathering program. Is there a way to disable it?
