How to refer to an anchor in page A from page B

MPal Pal March 5, 2013

Say I have an anchor named "test" in page A. I use A#test from page B. So when user clicks the link in page B, I expect him to be navigated to the anchor point in page A.

But this doesn't happen right now. User gets landed somewhere in the middle of page A where is there is no anchor. I am using firefox. Can this be a browser issues please?

I have got the same problem. This may be due to a Firefox bug (that is known for a long time): https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=645075

Try it with IE or Chrome - with me it works then.

I am using cofluence 4.2.2 but this problem might occur in other versions as well. Not sure about that.

Hi Park,

1. It happened right after adding the anchor to page A and referring from page B.

2. It works correctly in IE 9.

3. Both pages are on the same space.

Maybe there is a setting in Firefox which I can change to get this to work?

  1. When do you start experiencing this issue?
  2. Have you tried this with other browsers?
  3. Is the two pages in the same space?

Besides, the guide for using anchors in Confluence can be found here:
