"XSRF Security Token Missing" error for specific user

Sarah Woodhouse March 4, 2013

I have one user of our JIRA system who repeatedly gets the error below when trying to submit forms in JIRA, e.g. to close an issue. No other users have reported this. Is there any reason this would be affecting an individual user and not everyone generically?

The problem occurs for this use when using Internet Explorer, but not when using Chrome. IE is not using a proxy.

Hi Sarah

Can you check if the Browser Proxy is set to No Proxy and not to Auto Detect or something similar?

Does this problem reproducible on other internet browser ?

Most probably the problem is caused by proxy. Please to ask the user to set to No Proxy and clear up all the cache and cookies of the internet browser.

Hope it helps :)

Thank you, Daryl. The user in question is set to use a proxy so we'll try turning that off and see if the problem is resolved.

Correction, the user was mistaken initially and is not using a proxy.

The problem occurs when using IE but not when using Chrome.

Was there ever an answer for this? I'm also getting the XSRF error for a few random users, but I'm running a python script from my terminal.

We just received the same error in Firefox. Without changing any configurations, when they refreshed the page and attempted to close the ticket, it worked.
