HTTP error code from server: 500 when using JIRA issue macro

When trying to use the JIRA issue macro, I get the error message: HTTP error code from server: 500. Please check the log file for more information.

We had a long thread in OnDemand support on this issue. Ultimately it was resolved, but the last thread was: "I removed the macro and inserted it again, now the macro is correctly working"

The other important part I was missing was that the link had to be copied from XML by selecting "XML" on "Views" menu.

Turn on the oauth authentication in both JIRA and Confluence.

In JIRA go to Application Links click Edit -> Outgoing Authentication -> Oauth and click Enable.

The same steps for Incoming Authentication in JIRA.

Also you should do the same in Confluence.

Did you get this figured out? If not, check that your application link between Jira and Confluence actually works. It can be tricky to get them set up sometimes.
