I am looking for a way to create timelines on my wiki pages. The type of timelines that I am interested in creating are neither project nor application related, but are related to either past historical or possible future events. Some of the timelines cover a timespan of a day, some a week, some a year, some a lifetime, and some thousands of years. Because they are historically related, I need the timeline feature to be dynamic in it's ability to display the events. The ability to display a break somewhere in the middle of the timeline (signifying a significant period of time, perhaps by displaying an ellipsis) and the ability to zoom in on a defined timespan on the timeline would be very useful.
I am currently using an older version of Confluence (v3.0) but am looking to upgrade as soon as I get my new hardware setup and configured.
Does such a feature currently exist either in the core features of Confluence or in an add-on? If not, by chance is anyone at Atlassian familiar with any other software that provides these features? If so, maybe I could persuade them to create an Atlassian add-on.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Take a look at Roadmap Planner Macro available for the new version of Confluence.
I am new to jira and would like to create a timeline with roadmap-planner. Where do i go to get started?

I'm looking for the same type of plugin to track "what version released when" over the last 10 years, but I found the Roadmap planner won't handle timelines longer than 5 years.
