SSO with multiple directories

j March 12, 2015

Does SSO work with multiple directories when we setup them in both Confluence and JIRA like following?

confluence-dir1 (used by Confluence as primary) / jira-dir1 (used by JIRA as primary) -> using DIR1 directory in Crowd

confluence-dir2 (used by Confluence ad secondary) / jira-dir2  (used by JIRA as Secondary) -> using DIR2 directory in Crowd

Crowd do work with multiple applications. For example, JIRA, Confluence and Bamboo can be in the same SSO environment at the same time. However, each application should have their own crowd.properties containing one single application.

Sincerely apologise for misunderstand your query which leads to this confusion. Hope it helps.

No it is not possible to do it. Crowd use crowd.properties to authenticate the application before authenticating the user.

So does it means SSO does not work with multiple applications?

Hi there,

Sorry, I don't really understand the provided schema. Could you please elaborate your directory plan. Anyway, regarding your issue, if the multiple directories implement in Crowd, it should be fine. However, any other directory in Confluence or JIRA will be excluded by Crowd SSO as its authenticator will not be able to authenticate any users that are not from Crowd directory.

Hope the above information clarify your doubts on this issue and do let us know if you have further queries or doubts on this issue.

Cheers,
