JIRA 6.1 - How to disable/enable Issue Cloning for special groups

Karlheinz Dreßen February 27, 2015

Is it possible to enable/disable cloning of issues for specified groups?

I know about the general possibility to remove the functionaly by disabling: "View Issue Ops Bar Clone Link".

Hi Karlheinz,

I believe the answer provided by Bob Swift on Permission for cloning issues is the best way to achieve the result you want.

Thanks and regards,

Just came across this solution on Atlassian's site: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRAKB/Disable+Clone+Issue+in+JIRA

To do this, the user should do the following:
You must be a JIRA Administrator with access to add-ons
Go to Add-ons > Manage add-ons

1. Select to see System add-ons by changing from User Installed to All Add-ons
2. Find Issue Operations Plugin
3. Expand modules
4. Find View Issue Ops Bar Clone Link and disable it!

This is affective immediately.

Note that this would disable it for every user.

Hi Mateen,

thank you for adding this, as I only mentioned above, that I know, how to do this.

You can use this, to remove any functionality from the toolbar dropdowns.

But, as it is stated in the Atlassian documentation.

That will remove it for all users and could not be provided for special groups.

Thanks and regards,
