Does Confluence store the history of page moves?

Wendy Fergusson January 16, 2013

I know it's not in the page history you see in the tool, but I'm hoping it's in the database somewhere. Does Confluence store the history of page moves or previous parents?

Hello Wendy,

The short answer to this question is no.

Confluence only associates the latest version of a page with a space. When you move a page to a new space Confluence only associates that page with the new Space ID. There is no way short of doing a diff against an older version of the database to know where a page has come from.

In my case the move was within a space, so I was looking for the previous parentid. From what I see in the db the answer is the same. Oh well. Thanks for confirming.

Just to add some more to the picture, there is an existing feature request for this that you can track on the following link: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-5231
