Is there a way to to lock a Confluence page for editing purposes?

Robbie Lee June 27, 2011

I have a coworker who would like to know if there is a way to lock a Confluence page for editing purposes--so that other user cannot edit the document at the same time.

To lock a page, you can use page restrictions (Tools > Restrictions): Then select "Restrict editing of this page" and click "me".

This will at least prevent others from editing the page :)

Try the "..." button on at the top right of the page -- it used to say "Tools", but is now more cryptic

if you are talking about locking attachmens:
checkin/checkout is not supported with default Confluence features, but there are a couple of plugins that are built to solve this problem:

I also meet the same questions. it seems in new version , they have a new feature called "Collaboration Editing", then we can limit how many users can edit a page at the same time.

I find in old version, many users editing one page may cause database deadlock.

I have an additional question.  Is there a way to check-in check-out a space?  Sure, I can do it with permissions, but I'd like to have something easier and more transparent.

Thanks

What do you mean by document? A page or attachment?
