How can we integrate jira with Service Now? Any plug in or a specific procedure?

You can start looking at the below threads in the SN community:

Mainly, the integration SNOW -> JIRA should be possible to be achieved by following the below guide:

While the communication JIRA -> SNOW should be achieved by using webhooks:

Let me know if this helps.

Hi @fariba keshehrim ,

I have just clicked on the link and the site loads perfectly fine. Try from a different connection.

 Cheers,
Dario

Quick update:

You can now use automation rules (global or project specific) to send requests to the desired endpoints every time issues are created or updated in Jira.

For details on how to do so, please see:

(Spoiler alert - I'm with the team that develops the product - so this is a blatant pitch for our product)

Have a look at Exalate - which provides a ServiceNow connector

It provides

  • Flexibility through a scripting facility allowing to implement the most demanding mapping, filtering and transformation requirements

  • Autonomy through its distributed architecture. The configuration is done for the local tracker such that configuration changes don’t affect remote issue trackers

  • Reliability through a transactional synchronization engine allowing to pause and resume any ongoing synchronization requests~

  • Reach  - allow to integrate with Jira (all deployment models) Zendesk, Github, HP ALM/QC and new upcoming integrations

More info - book a demo here

Depends on what you want the "integration" to do?  I'm not aware of any addons that would directly do much, but JIRA's REST API supports plenty of functions, and it's not hard to write addons to put in JIRA that can talk to other systems.

Hi Nic, Thanks for your response:) From integration, I mean flowing of incidents/tickets between the two systems. Like if some ticket is getting created or is present in Service Now then same is to be flown to Jira. Can you please let me know how can I use Jira's REST API? Thanks in advance, Ankita

Just a quick update on this:

At this current point in time you can also use a Jira Automation (using the "send web request" automation action) instead of Webhooks to send data to ServiceNow.

This way you will also be able to set the authentication header.

Cheers,
Dario

We have tried several solutions, and of course, homegrown development, which took us a very long time, and maintenance was a challenge.

At the end, our ServiceNow admin used a tool which was relatively low cost compared to the other solution out there, by zigiwave, a nice integration company.

https://zigiwave.com/jira-servicenow-integration/

compared to the other, they can synchronize also attachments, and all for a fair price.

highly recommended.

Hey!

Off late I've been using a tool called Automate.io to connect my Jira with numerous other apps like Trello, Slack, ServiceNow, Salesforce etc.

They have a lot of integrations and ServiceNow is also one among them.

You can check it out here - https://automate.io/integration/jira/servicenow

Best workflows possible:

- Create new records in ServiceNow for every new issue in JIRA

- Record update in ServiceNow, add an issue in JIRA

- and many more..

The integration of Jira with ServiceNow helps the customer service and development teams communicate efficiently, in real time. This, in turn, helps resolve the customer issues faster.

Jira and ServiceNow can be integrated bi-directionally in a way that all ‘tickets’ from ServiceNow automatically synchronize to JIRA and all the entities and details associated with the ‘tickets’ synchronize back to JIRA. There is a datasheet given here that has integration know how for both systems using an integration solution from OpsHub.
