Don't have Epics as an optional issue type

Ben Myers November 12, 2014

Hi -

I recently installed JIRA on our servers with the agile plugin and I'm having two problems - when I create a new project, I only have 4 options of project type (JIRA Classic, Software Development, Simple Issue Tracking, Project Management) rather than 6 that I have in my other installs.  Also, no matter which project type I choose, I don't have the option of 'epic' issue types and it's not included in issue types in the issues system administration section.  Am I missing something or doing something incorrectly?

Thanks!

Ben

The agile menu option is there, but when I click it it takes me to the add-ons page.  When I click 'get started' on the agile option i the add-ons page, it just reloads the same page.  It says I have 251 of 251 modules enabled for the plugin.  I'm trying to use the trial version, so I have no license key associated with it. If there's supposed to be a license key, I couldn't find where to get a trial key after searching around the atlassian site for a while.

Ah, probably is the trial then. You need to go to your my.atlassian account and generate an evaluation licence there.

That sounds like the Agile plugin is partially or totally turned off and/or hasn't been installed correctly/fully.

Do you have the Agile link on the menus?  That would imply some of it is ok, but the next step whether it's there or not is to go to manage addons and find it - check that all the modules are enabled (from memory, one should be disabled, but the other 300ish should be enabled)
