Is it possible to automatically update a date in confluence?

jules24 September 5, 2023

Hi everyone,

I am looking for a solution to automatically update dates on a confluence page.

We are protocoling our dailies and I normally copy the template of the week but still I have to update the dates (e.g. Tuesday, 05.09.23) manually. It does not take me long but I was wondering whether there exists a macro that does it automatically.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated :)

Thanks in advance!

Hi @jules24

I doubt there is an automated solution to this use case. I have a similar approach to our recurring meetings, and my solution so far is adding the date either at the title (when creating the page) or having it only in one place so it's quicker  :)

For bulk changes I've used this app in the past: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/284/confluence-command-line-interface-cli?tab=overview&hosting=cloud

But I doubt a change of a few dates is worth setting up an entire app.

Hi Teodora,

thank you for your message and your suggestions! The app looks cool but unfortunately we are working in a client environment so probably even if there was a fitting macro, it would be challenging to get it or the app..

Have a great day!
