Plans (Advanced Roadmaps) and Parent Field

When using plans, I've created by Initiative, Epic, Story hierarchy and that's all working great.  I'm using blocks issue links to define dependencies, also working great.

Then I go to the Dependencies graph and the blocked issue links draw as expected.  However, Epics that are children of Initiatives via the Parent field (not link) and Stories that are children of Epics (again, parent field) do not display that relationship in the graph.  

Is there any way to have the dependency graph show Parent relationships defined by field and not links?  I know you can roll up, but that doesn't give me what I need.

Dependencies in Jira Plans are only configured by using issue links, and unfortunately, there isn't an option to include the Parent field.

If you're looking for a view that incorporates both Dependencies and the Parent-Child relationship of the work, you could try using the Timeline view and filtering for "Issue with dependencies" or even using the saved "Dependency Management view".

You could change the "Dependency Style" under View Settings to "Lines" to show the connections in a similar style to the Dependency Report.
