Dashboard with custom date field

We have added a custom date field to capture the Bug identified date. Now we would like to create a dashboard showing the Bugs identified by month using Custom date field. All the dashboards or gadgets using bug created date and didn’t find option to select custom date field

Creating a statistic or chart with number of bugs identified per month (by your custom date field) can be easily done by using the Pivot Table & Pivot Chart gadget offered by our Great Gadgets app.

Would you like to go with the below choice and see if it fits:

• Build a JQL filter that retrieves issues where the "Bug identified date" field falls within a specific month.
  You can use JQL functions like dateRange or period to achieve this
• Select a gadget like "Issue List" or "Pie Chart" in your dashboard.
  This will display bugs based on your custom date field within the chosen timeframe

I would like to display dashboard with Bug Identified month by month, ex: number of bugs identified in Jan, Feb, Mar...etc for last 1 yr based on Custom Date field.
