Runner image version

Steven_Esemplare May 12, 2022

I see in the sample that the image used for runners is:

image: docker-public.packages.atlassian.com/sox/atlassian/bitbucket-pipelines-runner # mandatory, don't modify

I see the comment about not modifying. So I'd like to know how versioning is/will be handled?

Hi @Steven_Esemplare

Thank you for your question!

You could modify the version for future, however, you can’t modify the image name, as the autoscaler won’t work without this Atlassian docker image.

We will be modifying our autoscaler code to use docker-public.packages.atlassian.com/sox/atlassian/bitbucket-pipelines-runner:1 instead of latest. Version 1 will contain a backwards compatible and updated version every time is pulled.

Best regards,

Actually you can modify image. You may have a version tag for image. You could also change the image if you build your custom image in your private repository based on the upstream bitbucket-pipelines-runner image.
