How to change and merge user's before migrate to cloud from server with old domain name?

Good day!

We want to migrate our old server version of Jira to the cloud version of Jira Cloud. During the planning of the migration, we encountered some difficulties related to the change of domain names and email addresses of our users, which caused inconsistencies in the data connections between the old and new systems.

Currently, in the old system on the server, users have old domain names and e-mail addresses, while in the new Cloud version of Jira, they have already been changed. Our main question is whether these accounts can be merged or matched during the migration. We would like to ensure a smooth transition where users do not need to register new accounts, and their data and work history will be preserved and transferred to new accounts.

Is there a standard procedure or approach that you could recommend for solving this problem?

Example:
We have an old user in the server version some_user@old_domain.com
And this user is already registered in jira Cloud with name data some_user@new_domain.io

How can we do this? In the old version, Jira is connected to Active Directory.

Hi @Танас Эдуард , there's no way to perform a content merge through the migration assistant's today unless the user account has been flagged with a duplicated or invalid email via the Assess and Prepare Users card- in which case you can use the upload CSV to override emails, help doc here.

However, our migration support teams do have a way to re-map content using a script they're able to run. Make sure you're logged into your Atlassian Account and you can contact them here.
