Short and sweet update:
Today, when an Atlassian account is linked via both SAML and SCIM, the user’s full name attribute will be updated on next login using the SAML firstname and surname. This will override whatever SCIM has set as the user’s name.
We’ve received a lot of feedback that this is unexpected for many of you.
Going forward, full name updates from SAML will only be processed if the user is not being synced via SCIM. This will allow you to rely on SCIM as your source of truth for user profile details.
This update will be rolled out over the next 2 weeks.
