Why are required fields displaying that don't exist when creating an issue from a Confluecne page?

I'm using a page in my account's personal space along with a Jira project I set up to capture requirements from the Confluence page. I originally set up the Jira issue type to have a required field that I've since removed.  When highlighting text on the confluence page and clicking create issue, I'm presented the no longer existing required field, so I'm unable to create issues, single or multiple. When I tried creating a single issue using the create issue dialog as presented, there aren't any error messages and it looks like it was created, but no link is added to the Confluence page and the issue is not present in the Jira project. I've attached pics of the create image dialog and the issue's field configuration.  Any help will be much appreciated.

Welcome to the community @Scott Brunza

Have you checked your screen scheme and make sure that this field is also added in there as well? Issue layout only changes the way how this field is being presented, it needs to be added to your screen scheme as well.

Also, if it's not showing yet, in your Create issue screen (when you are creating an issue) to click on three dots and choose the option Show fields and look for your field that you want to appear and check the box.

I checked screen schemes with my Jira admin, and the project isn't using them, nor are most of our projects.

I created the Requirement issue type in the Jira project (deleted the others) and its component fields. In the first pass, it contained the Control Catalog dropdown field (showing in Confluence create issue), but I've since removed it, replacing it with a not required checkbox list. So it isn't that the fields in my configuration aren't showing in Confluence, it's that the deleted one is. This all happened yesterday, and I waited until today in case there was a propagation delay between Confluence and Jira.

What I find really confusing is the fact that I couldn't create an issue using Confluence's create issue action. The required field that shows up in the dialog has a default value of "none", and I would expect the create issue values to be valid; assuming it didn't work due to a mismatch of fields being submitted and existing. I confirmed I can manually create an issue directly in Jira.
